The middle of the known world
Aldermark
Sea-walled Westhaven anchors the west. Saltreach opens to the eastern seas. Between them lie hills, the open Stormwold, high passes and the long road through the Midfields.
Chapter III / The world of Kalana
One sun, one moon, and seas that connect very different peoples. Kalana’s history is heard in fragments: a traveller’s oath, a harbour tale, a lesson remembered.
The middle of the known world
Sea-walled Westhaven anchors the west. Saltreach opens to the eastern seas. Between them lie hills, the open Stormwold, high passes and the long road through the Midfields.
Across the Morning Sea
The eastern continent of elves, dwarves and gnomes: a land whose peoples carry different memories of stone, forest and invention.
Beyond the Inkwater
The scholars’ western island is home to the Vellani, their heretics and the island cat-folk, the Tarrai.
Across the Wanderdeep
The scaled continent lies to the south-east. The Khessuk remember the fallen city of Tsevrak; varkhul, frogfolk and goblins share the land.
Beyond the Grinding Sea
Ships arrive beneath towering ice cliffs. In the frozen north lie the histories of the Skardi, the Hul and the Talonward.
The journey from Westhaven to Saltreach
Leave the western sea wall. Cross the Stormwold, climb the high pass, and walk through haunted woods and the Midfields until the eastern harbour opens before you.
From Saltreach, ships sail toward the other lands of Kalana.
